ABOUT THE AUTORS

Zuzana Palovic, PhD.

Zuzana is the daughter of Slovak emigrants. Born behind the Iron Curtain, her family fled the communist regime to Canada. Having spent her early childhood in the 'East', she was raised and educated in the 'West', giving Zuzana a window seat into both worlds, and by extension both consciousnesses. Zuzana has actively researched how the past has shaped the present of Slovakia. This mission led her into the halls of academia and into the heart of some of the best universities in the world.

Gabriela Beregházyová, PhD.

Gabriela's life since the earliest of childhood revolved around the magical world of storytelling. There was little entertainment available behind the Iron Curtain and so it was Pavol Dobsinsky, the father of the Slovak fairy tale, who first opened her mind and imagination. Dr Bereghazyova, an expert on corruption is passionately involved in projects and initiatives that help Slovaks understand who they are. Just like Pavol Dobsinsky, Gabriela recognizes the timeless power of stories. The ancient practice of storytelling is at the heart of her mission to help Slovaks share their knowledge with the world.
